A person under 18 can claim for all types
of accidents, just as an adult can.
Children have until their 21st birthday to make a claim.
However, it is always better to make the claim as soon as possible
to avoid any difficulty in finding witnesses to the accident
and collecting reliable evidence.
If
you are over 18 (and didn't cause the accident) and close
to the child, you can make a claim on their behalf.
You would act as a Litigation Friend
and we will speak to you on the child's behalf.
Settlements
are approved by the Court and any compensation is then
invested by the court at a preferential rate of interest.
The money will be paid to the child when they reach the
age of 18 years. |
